Hi I’m Stephen and I have been a developer for close to 45 years

I started in high school back in 1975 programming in Basic over an acoustic modem to a main frame. Went to college at UT Austin, and have programming professionally since graduating in 1980. Currently, I am a c++ developer as well as developing javascript apps on electron. Trying to learn rust right now.

You’ve seen a few things change over the years I bet!

What’s your take on modern web development and JS?

I think the tools languages and frameworks allow the ability to create better and more sophisticated applications. The barrier to entry for S/W development has never been easier. Although as a counterpoint the plethora of options of tech to learn and utilize can be daunting.
I do like JS because of my C/C++ background the general syntax is very familiar.
